Tatie Makau has influenced 'ori Tahiti around the world and is an esteemed judge for various competitions around the world including Heiva i Tahiti and Hura Tahiti in Papaete.
'Ori Tahiti Basics with Agnes Ali'itasi Manuma | Thursday Oct. 10, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Beginner to advanced dancers will learn the traditional 'ori Tahiti basics from 'ori Tahiti Master and Ra'atira/Director of Ali'itasi. For decades in Hawaii Agnes maintained overall and first place titles in solo competitions and lead as director for Maohi Nui. She is renowned in Tahiti to Japan for her strong and fierce fa'arapu and elegant grace.
Solo 'Ōte'a Free Style Technique with Hirohiti Tematahotoa-Graffe | 7:45 PM – 9:15 PM
For all ages and levels, interested dancers will learn the basics of freestyle solo technique by 'ori Tahiti Master and Ra'atira/Director for Hantika and Nuna'a E Hau. Hirohiti is a renowned choreographer for groups around the globe and esteemed judge for various competitions around the world including Heiva i Tahiti and Heiva i Paris.
Exclusive 'Ori Nui Judges Panel/Discussion | Friday 9:00 - 10:00 AM

Ra'atira and dancers who purchased the full workshop package will be invited to partake in a free facilitated panel discussion with 'Ori Nui judges. This is an amazing opportunity to hear from the judges themselves what they are judging on, looking for, and favor. Ra'atira can submit questions before hand or come ready with questions for the judges. Coffee and donuts provided.
